  • We have 2 large German Shepherds, 1 male and 1 female. They are awesome dogs. They are great with our kids and we love them as much as our children. We aren't small dog people but if I were to get another Dog it would be a Collie. We had them when I was growing up and have always loved them.

  • We have a white peekapoo (pekignese & poodle mix) named Lacey, she is 4 years old and weighs about 13 lbs, I love her beyond reason, she was our first baby. She is wonderful so far with our daughter Natalie, but very high maintenance, her fur needs to be groomed constantly because she is part poodle, but she is worth it, a very sweet very calm little dog. Before Natalie Lacey went everywhere with me, she's flown in a plane with me several times and is quite the princess but is adjusting very well to the "new princess". The only drawback is that when we got her we were told she would only weigh around 8 lbs fully grown, but what can you do? cross breeds tend to vary...

  • We have a Black Lab (Mary) and a Pit Bull (Penny). I love them to death and they're both a little spoiled. They're both wonderful dogs but I would be cautious about getting a pit bull if you have smaller dogs. Penny is a great dog but she tends to play a little rough with Mary. She's never mean or aggressive, her tail is always wagging but I think she forgets her strength sometimes. Mary is great and takes it in stride but she also outweighs Penny by a good 20 pounds. I'm not saying she couldn't play nice with a smaller dog but I wouldn't want to take the chance that things could go amiss. They both LOVE children however and are wonderful around any of the ones we have introduced them to. We are expecting our first in about 2 weeks so we have been working hard with them.

  • We have a 9 year old Great Pyrenees crossed with some sort of retriever. He is a great dog, wonderful with the kids, but I wouldn't get as big a dog again. I think next time we'll get something smaller, a medium size, maybe a sheltie or a cocker spaniel. But we never picked Earl anyway, my in-laws found him on the street as a puppy and we said we'd keep him until someone claimed him. Nine years later no one has claimed him and he's our whiter, furrier son :)
