What would be some good things to take on a picnic?

I need some ideas that would be OK to take on a picnic for a 6 year old and a 14 month old that won't have to be refrigerated. Thanks

  • I like the classic PB&J sandwiches and chips.

  • I found that the capri sun juices freeze slushie, so I use them as ice packs. We also take the smucker's frozen PB&J sandwiches. They travel well and after thawing (on the counter or in the lunchbag) they are good up to 8 hours. Keebler's make snack size cookies and cracker stuff that also travels well. They are in plastic containers so they don't crush the cookie. Hope this helped.

  • I take fruit. Grapes, bananas, and apple slices travel well. My 6yr old loves PB & J and for my baby (1yr) I cook him up a grilled cheese to take.
    Cookies are always good.
    Fried chicken is good cold.
    crackers & hard salami
