  • You shouldn't bleed at ovulation only at your period. Check with your doctor.

  • I have never had ovulation bleeding. The only side effects you should have when ovulating is more discharge. I would talk to your gyno.

  • Sometimes breakthrough bleeding happens just before ovulation. This means a woman is extremely fertile and is about to ovulate. It can happen a couple of days before.

Sometimes bleeding occurs after ovulation too because of a temporary hormone dip.
This can happen for a couple of days, though some women spot for several.

I suggest "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. Any good bookstore will have it, or you can check your local library.

  • There was no reason for you not to have sex just because of a little spotting. But, keep in mind that in fertile mucous sperm can live several days. If you ovulated on the 27th then there were sperm still around.
