  • blocks blocks blocks...although the 3 yr old will want the 6 yr old to build a tower for him to kick down (at least in my house...i have a 2 and 6)

have the older one read to the younger...simple book with pictures and easy words so the older can practice reading and the younger is out of your hair so you can fix dinner

board games-do you have sorry? that keeps mine busy forever even though the 2 yr old doesnt understand

fly swatters-im not kidding...they stay busy for hours with these

build a fort for them to have a club-chairs and a blanket ought to do it and you can let them take a snack in

get your broken electronics-cell phones or laptops and let them pretend. kids love to pretend to be adults

relay races-make sure the area is safe though and only one child running (if you allow it) at a time or else they will run into eachother.
