As the previous posters stated their is a wide range of costs to adopt. Foreign adoptions vary in price depended on the country and type of child you are adopting. Last I looked Guatamala was the cheapest forgein adoption at around $17,000 while Russia was one of the most expensive at nearly $40,000.
Domestic private adoptions are also quite expensive. Again $10,000 or more.
Fostering to adopt is the most inexpensive, but you are less likely to get an infant (which is perfectly fine with me, but some people only want babies). I would personally urge you to go this route. Not because of cost, but because the thousands of children in every state that are desperatly in need of loving homes.
