How many are you supposed to get in say the 36th week? Can some women get none at all, while others have been having them all along? I believe I just noticed them....and my stomach just gets hard for a few moments then it relaxes again. Does anyone have stories to share? What do they mean exactly? Thanks!

  • braxton hicks are like regular contractions, it's just your body prepping for labor. Some lucky women never experience them. I had them for a full month before going into active labor. Sorry, good luck with it!

  • Braxton Hicks are like regular contractions, except they go away if you rest or lay down. From my experience, they were not consistant either. I have 3 boys and each experience was different for me with the BH contractions, but one thing was the same and that is they were sparatic.

  • I had them throughout all 3 pregnancies. Dr said told me to drink ice water and lay on my right side if they are too uncomfortable.
