Rationed care already, what do you think?

In a New York Times story today about health insurance executives and their employees complaining about criticism of the health insurance industry, one executive acknowledges that the industry is all about rationing care:

"I believe we're getting the pushback because we are standing up for what we believe in," said Cheryl Tidwell, 45, Humana's director of commercial sales training. "We believe there's a better way to control costs by controlling utilization and getting people involved in their health care."

  • No kidding they are rationing health care, and doing it for a profit. There are tons of stories about people bankrupted by health care denials, killed, and injured due to this practice.

  • Pathetic. Yep people get denied care all the time true enough. But hey if you are annoyed with your company denying you then you CAN fire them, you can not fire the government plan when you are on it. But you are all mad because the GOP does have a better plan. But of course that wouldn't be fair cause the Awesome Obaminator didn't help make it up. So you guys can't take the credit. So keep on keeping on. This Heath Care bill (H.R. 3200) will NOT pass you want REAL reform read H.R.3400. How does that Obaminade taste?

  • Yep, it happens ever darn day in this country. Our system needs to be reformed.

How naive is the general public to think that grannie, CA pts, the chronically ill and developmentally disabled aren't already affected, in the current system?

Dollars and the bottom line, nothing else matters.

Not true if you are getting coverage through work. Also not true if you are currently being treated because insurance will not cover pre-existing conditions.

But you are all mad because the GOP does have a better plan.
