At your local grocery store...

How much is a pound of hamburger? Here it's $1.79/lb. And that's for 80/20.

A gallon of milk is $3.49.

Gasoline is $2.41.

Any other necessities?

  • Don't know about hamburger since we buy that at Costco but I usually get my milk for $2.50 at the local market which is a good price around here. Sometimes they have it for $2.
Not sure what gas is. It was $2.65 a couple weeks ago but I don't drive much.

  • I usually buy the tube of hamburger meant and today it was $2.49. If I go to the commissary it's cheaper but it's a 34 mile drive.
Gas in Kenosha, WI is $2.55
A gallon of milk at the Woodman's I shop at is $1.89 for the 1% stuff.

  • Wow! Ok, So i should have asked where you're located too...

We have fresh, cheaper beef, but I don't know WHY milk is so much more expensive here??? There are 3 dairies within an hour's drive... hmmm...

  • I bought milk today for $2.99 but it was on sale.

I only buy the leanest ground beef which is kind of pricey I think between 3.99 and 4.59 a pound.
I also buy ground turkey that is 2.79 a pound.

    Gas is 2.65 I think.

    I am in pittsburgh.

  • I get meat at a butcher shop. Hamburger is usually $1.30 a lb. I can get boston butt, pork chops, and bacon for $.99 a lb, too. (LOVE that shop!!)

Milk is usually between $2.50-$3.50. Sometimes I catch it on sale for $1.99. Krogers had some on clearance (one day expired) for $.99 a gallon!! You bet your ass I stocked up and froze that shit!!

Gas here is $2.65 (but it's the only station out here). If you drive 20 minutes to town, it's $2.40 or so.
