16 year old son has been having a lot of problems sleeping.....?

For some reason this week and school started this week he has not been sleeping at all. He sleeps like thirty minutes a day if that. He has started to become increasingly agitated and irritable. And i have tried giving him melatonin and it dose not see to work. I want to take him to his GP but he has been refusing he has a Steady girlfriend and a job. I am not sure what to do at this point.

  • why are you so worried if it's only a week? My son was extremely hormonal about then til he was 21. How was ds through the summer? Maybe there's a pregnancy worry?

  • Passionflower, valerian, hops, skullcap...all good sleeping herbs.

  • Melatonin a natural sleep supplement. It is normally created by the body but some times it just gets out of whack with stress, nerves, ect... 2-3 mg. 30 min before bed should help a lot!
