y cant i breathe?!?!

and will taking deep breaths hurt the baby?
im 19 weeks pregnant

  • LMAO!! 19 weeks you have quite a ways to go and it will only get worse. Sorry to sound insensitive but I have gone through it four times. You can try cats pose to try and take the pressure of the baby more towards your belly and then lay on your side. I don't know where you are but the heat has been bad in the last couple of days I'd say take it easy on yourself you may just be making your self more out of breath if you are trying to do too much. If you get light headed or hyperventilate that's never good.good

  • your uterus is just below your belly button at 19 weeks. Your internal organs are probably pressing upward, thus making breathing difficult.

    Try some yoga stretches like....the one where your on your hands and knees, you breathe in with a flat back and breathe out arching your back upward and but inward. this is modified since your pregnant

    also doing a bridge,lay on your back and press your feet firmly into the ground, put your hands to your sides so your arms are touching the floor. Make sure your knees are bent to where your feet are maybe a foot away from your butt. raise your butt can hold it or breathe in raise, breathe out and lower...your choice

    this can help tremendously with opening your rib cages...Im 29 weeks pregnant and doing these simple yoga poses helped so much

  • Have you been sick? Baby is growing and can sit in places that really put pressure on us in different places. Are you a smoker? Hyperventilating can be harmful but taking deep breaths is not. Give you ob a call.

  • Try some stretches. As your belly grows, your lungs will have less and less room. Then when your belly drops (mine didn't until my water broke), you'll be able to breathe, but you'll pee even more than you were already! I agree with Dom123123, yoga can be great for this. Heavy breathing will not harm your baby, but if you start to feel lightheaded, sit down, have a glass of water, put your head between your legs if you can, and try to take it easy.
