Potty Training

Emma is 2 years and 7 months. She is going to be 3 in January and she is still in diapers. She refuses to go potty in the toilet. We have bought her big girl underwear, a potty chair, a thing for the big toilet (name escapes me right now), a potty book, the Elmo DVD. Nothing works. She did pee and poop in the potty once but that was because we made her sit there forever in front of the TV. We tried to bribe her and still she does not want to do it. She says she wants a diaper. Heck she will almost change herself. She will take her diaper off and wipe herself but yet she will tell us if she has pee or poop in her diaper. WE NEED HELP.

  • If she is refusing, she is not ready. Don't make her. Most kids aren't trained till about 3 anyway.

  • If she is changing herself and it is a love of diapers. Get ride of the diapers. Tell her they are all gone. See how she does. I would get the gerber taining pants, they are super thick cloth undies, I only could find them at Target.
