Is it swine?

My 8 month old was playing with her cousin, Eleana, and she came hold with a cold. It's been going on for a few days, and I just found out that there was a baby in Eleana's day care class that had swine flu. Should I be worried?

  • Would you be worried if the kid jsut has the regular flu? don't let the word swine get to you. Just be proact, offer lots of fluids now, wash hands, clean toys etc. And if she does get sick, use common sense treatments such as pushing fluids, offering healthy foods, and taking to the doc if it gets too bad.

  • how high is she running fever wise? if its below 100.4, chances are it's just a cold. if it holds on for a few more days and she doesn't seem to be getting better, or it gets worse; like she stops eating, gets dehydrated, or has trouble breathing, or acts lethergic you should take her to the doctor.

  • Call your doctor's office and just ask what to watch for (or the ER nurse or check the CDC site)
