At what age should children learn to count 1- 5?

  • I never taught mine, they just figured it out from hearing me count 3 all the time. They were all around 2 1/2 by the time they could count to 5. My youngest is 3 and can count to like 12 before messing up and sometimes to 15.

  • All kids are different. When you change their diaper or walking up and down stairs, count and do ABC's. They will pick it up. Mine is almost 2 and can count to 20.

  • My DD is 3 and can count to 30. She started counting to 10 before she was 2.

  • Probably by age 2 they should be able to count to 5.
