Can I keep fresh scallops and shrimp in fridge to use the next day?

Not much of a cook. Bought fresh scallops and shrimp from Whole Foods this morning. Planned to use it to make seafood pasta for dinner, but ate out instead. Is it fine to leave the seafood uncooked in the fridge to cook for dinner tomorrow? Do I need to freeze it instead to keep it fresh? One day in the fridge should be fine, right?

  • one to two days in the fridge should be fine. Make sure to cook for the recommended times for the foods you're cooking. Good luck!

  • Yes it is fine. Just keep them in the coldest part of the the back.

  • put in a perforated pan with a drip pan on top, then lightly cover with plastic wrap and then a nice layer of ice on that. in the fridge. In a restauant we have always iced the fish ever night while closed. It will keep a few days if you keep icing it.

  • Yep just use them tomorrow! Or you could cook them up tonight and save yourself some time tomorrow nite.
