EPA to declare carbon dioxide a pollutant.

Well, they are going to do it..... How do you regulate carbon dioxide anyway? Are people going to be exempt? Opinions?

The Environmental Protection Agency is expected in the next few weeks to declare that carbon dioxide and five other greenhouse gases are pollutants, a move that would require the federal government to regulate them -- even without legislation.

  • I would like a full inquiry into the last time anyone at the EPA took a biology or chemistry class because the seem to be missing something there...

  • You have to give it to politicians! They can find or make a loop hole anywhere to push their agenda. Is this a sure fire way to push that cap and trade crap? Sounds like the beginning to me.

  • We are all going to be required to hold our breath so we don't polute. the EPA is a left wing tool because if they don't promote the fear mongering of global warming, they don't have jobs.

In all seriousness - seems they could accomplish a lot more by increasing forestation than by curbing emissions.

  • Ah ha, a reason to tax breathing. It has been that breathing is free, but the gov,t. wants to find a way to tax that also.

  • So we're not supposed to exhale? What a bunch of dumbasses! I swear, government people get more idiotic everyday. This whole global warming garbage is nothing more than political bullshit. Look at who's behind it.

Seriously, open your eyes and look up sarcasm in the dictionary. Declaring it a pollutant solves nothing. Companies will just have that much more reason to move to China and other nations that aren't onboard with the whole "save the planet" thing where they can lower their production costs that much more. Even those who don't will endrun them by diversifying and splitting production to multiple locations - in effect actually increasing their overall pollutants and emissions, but having multiple locations just under the limit. It's a stupid idea that will kill more trees writing laws and memos that won't help.

  • You don't think it could come to discussions about how much people emit? Have you read the studies about how much global warming is contributed to by cows farting? I kid you not, there are actual, serious studies on this stuff! Our politicians are wack jobs, and what does it say about us for voting them up there?
