  • this will be our 1st winter in northern minnesota and frankly I am terrified. 24 hours every single day for 3+ months.... in this house. Let's be fair and say there will be like 5 days total (dreaming here!) we can safely go sledding or make snow angels.

How do you keep morale high and tantrums low in the winter?

  • I'm in Az too, we live for the winter. We are outside all the time then. Here it's the summers that kill us, unless we are swimming otherwise we are inside to hot to play outside

  • School breaks up the day. If they have snow days we make hot cocoa, play in the snow, do a puzzle, play playstation, board games, cards, watch movies, or they just play in their rooms..I love snow days, we sleep late, I make a big pot of chili and we enjoy our time together.

  • Take your kids to the library, a children's museum, do fun winter crafts like make Christmas decorations, bake cookies, make cocoa, popcorn and a movie, play dress up in mommy and daddy's clothes...hope this helps :)

  • I may let my son play in the snow. I worry too. He's an ourdoor kind of guy. He cries if he stays in for too long.
