  • Our boys must show responsibility and have a part time job to drive. My 17 refuses to get a job and lays around all the time so he will not drive until he gets off his A.. Our 15 1/2 year old already has a job and seems responsible so he will probably drive sooner.

  • Mine recieved permits at 15. They learned to drive long before that though. My youngest could handlle a 3 ton combine by the time he was 15. They were never allowed to drive on the streets until it was legal.

  • If we're still living in town, they'll do nothing til they're 14 and pass the test for their permit. If we're on a farm by then, I'm sure they'll be driving a tractor, but I won't let them drive a tractor alone before they're 14 - daddy will be with them!

  • In our home it was not the age, ut rather the demonstration of responsibility. For example, they had to get the best grades possible and have a parttime job to help pay for their insurance. No detention or skipping school. Hope that helps.
