Bradford Pear Tree Question???????????????

Does anyone know what could cause one Bradford Pear Tree out of 6 in a row, to die? The rest are healthy and green and we have one that looks like it is the middle of Winter already (no leaves and what leaves are on it are brown).

  • Bradford Pears are notoriously fragile, although typically they drop branches. It is a shame that such a beautiful tree- the shape is beautiful, the color in Spring and Fall, just doesn't thrive. We had to have ours taken down when it dropped limbs on our driveway. There are some other varieties of Bradford Pear that are supposed to be hardier, but I've read mixed opinions on them. To answer about the tree just up and dying, sometimes trees just do that- sometimes it is a parasite, sometimes a disease, sometimes a lightning strike that just happened to travel along the ground and hurt the tree. We've lost a few trees that just died, and the tree experts had no idea why, they said sometimes it just happens.
