What are your childrens favorite breakfasts/special school send-offs you like to make them?

I bought apple butter at an Amish Market this weekend and sprinkled cinnamon on 4 grain bread. Thought would be fun to get more ideas. So much rushing around and not lots of time to eat before their big school day. My son is in high school so he isn't much of a breakfast eater anymore.

  • on the weekends I make, what we call a big breakfast.Homemade Pancakes or french toast. I make lots of extra then freeze it. so on the busy school mornings my son can have a favorite hot homemade breakfast that I know he will eat and that is not full of "junk" like the store bought kinds. If we have a rushed morning and the big b'fast stuff is gone I make him what we call the race car driver breakfast. 1 wrap spread with p'butter and a banana all rolled up with a cup of milk.

  • The last two years, my daughter had to be on a bus before six am. Here are some great portable breakfasts:

    Burritos: whole wheat tortilla, refried beans, veggie and cheese omelette
    Whole grain waffles or pancakes (make and freeze on the weekends): toasted with peanut (or soy nut or sunflower seed) butter

  • muffins with a glass of milk at the house & fruit (in a baggie) to eat as finger food as we are driving to school is my daughters fave....

    fried egg sandwiches are also her favorite

  • frozen waffles are horrid nothing but trans fat...i lost 100lbs my trainer said they arejust horrid 4 u

  • We are all loving this for breakfast, it is delicious and healthy: brown rice (I usually make it the night before, or I have leftovers), warmed up with milk, a little sugar or honey, raisins and pecans. Yummy. Even my 2 year old and husband love it and they are super picky.

  • we make banana, blueberry, or cinnamon pancakes and freeze what we don't use. my 4 year old loves red river, cream of wheat and oatmeal...
