Illinois has a public option already and it's amazing. Illinois is the first state in the nation to provide affordable, comprehensive health insurance for EVERY child.
It is called ALL KIDS and yes my son is on it. It is for ALL Kids 19 and under regardless of parental income. Even though everyone qualifies, you have to apply for it so they can determine what amount of premium you will pay. And, just like any other HMO there is a co-pay and you have to pick a pcp.
I'm in Premium Level 1. I only pay $15/mo for my son to have insurance! If I went trough work my $180/mo would be $239/mo. Huge difference. and BTW Obama helped create the ALL KIDS Plan...
