When is a good time to start putting your child in a beauty contest?

My daughter is 9 months and i would like to get her in to modeling, she has done a few contest but i don't know where to begin.

  • Not until (IF) she chooses to do it on her own. Let her decide for herself if that si something she wants to pursue and dont push her into it.

  • well i believe that if you dont get them started while they are young then they cant get in. And also beauty plays a important role in everyone's life. Everyone has their own beauty and i would like to show hers off.

  • NEVER! That is a superficial waste of time and money. Start her in a reading for toddlers club some day. Or a Mommy and Baby exercise group. Or Swim Class. But something productive, not "beauty " stuff. Remember beauty is only skin deep ... ;-) Her brain is more important.

  • If you want to do beauty pageants (I don't know anything about them except what I watch on Toddlers & Tiaras) I think you have to start when they are very young. If you wait until she can decide (4 or 5) you're much too late.
