How to Help a sick kitty? Please Help! Please!!

Our perfectly healthy kitten was nuetered in June & given shots. Was fine! We got A rain storm.. I didn't see him for one day since I was bedridden. Then we saw him under a step outside. Looking sickly! He's got a stuffy nose. He's inside walking around but wants to be pet all the time! What can it be? What can we do for him? We are unemployed in our household. I can't imagine what happened! What do you think? Caught in the rain can't do this can it? No signs of a bite or anything.

  • He might have an upper respiratory infection (common cold for cats). It usually clears up on its own, but it can also get bad. In fact, we had an 8 week old kitten we got from the humane society that had to be hospitalized for 10 days just 3 days after we got her due to severe upper respiratory infection.

Saline drops to clear his nose. Make sure he gets plenty to eat and drink. If you can, give him Pedialyte mixed 1/2 with water.

Nonetheless, if he isn't better within a few days, take him to the vet as he may need an antibiotic. That visit could cost about $40 including medicine.
