  • Have you tried the letting him crying it out technique? It sounds kind of cruel but perhaps the attention is waking him up more. Just suggesting something. Good Luck.

  • Make sure he has a set routine. Same time for bed every night, get him up at the same time every morning. Routine is the key. He will rest better at night. And yes the cio method may have to be used. Try it for a few nights. It took ours 3 nights and then he learned to soothe himself and not cry anymore. GL

  • at 8 months my DD was learning some new milestones and would wake through the night cause she was on her hands and knees lol not 2 much can be done vs maybe let him CIO for about 10 minutes a night and see if that works 5 minutes first night 10 the next and 15 the next

  • Is he getting 2 naps during the day? Often lack of sleep can cause them not to sleep at night. It doesn't make sense, but it's true! Make sure he is getting plenty of sleep during the day too. Also, I assume he is on solids. I would cut out sugar and fruit drinks in the afternoon and evening. What the other ladies suggested is great too! Stick to a routine and let him cry a little bit. Don't get him up to play or rock or walk in the middle of the night. Just pat his back and let him fuss a little. He will adjust!

  • as long as you meet his basic needs...and hes not teething...let him cry it out...when you go to check on him after hes been crying for a bit TRY to resist the urge to pick him up...just try to soothe him...if he cries for a loong time, then yea pick him up and calm him down...but try to last as long as you can and just let him wont hurt him and my ped even said its healthy for their lungs to let them cry some times...
