Is it normal not to have a period while breastfeeding?

I had my son 9 days ago. I had normal bleeding. And it stopped on sunday. Did this happen to you?

  • yes very normal. most woman wont get a period the whole time they bf while otehrs will get a regular cycle while bf

  • I have a friend that breastfed for 10 months and she never once had a period until 6 months AFTER she weaned...so more than a year without a period.

    I also breastfed, but had regular periods the entire time. My first period was just 6 weeks postpartum. I also wound up pregnant again too.
