Thumbsucker - dry skin help?

My 2 yr old is a big-time thumbsucker. That doesn't particularly bother me but the skin on his thumb is getting very dry. Short of getting him to stop sucking, is there anyway to help the dryness?

  • A thin layer of lansinoh cream helps a lot. It's safe (breastfeeding moms use it for dry nipples).
