How do you convince your friend that she needs to get out of an abusive relationship?

  • I'm sorry, you can't. And it is actually not recommended that you do because it might cement her thoughts to stay longer. She has to realize it on her own.

  • You remind her every chance you get that she is a valuable, beautiful human being that deserves love, kindness, be heard...listen, listen, and listen some more, be her shoulder and help her find her strength, never ever judge her, (she gets enough of that from her abuser) just love her and be there for her, be someone she can turn to.. believe in her, point out every good quality you see in her, over and over until she sees them her find her courage...validate every emotion she feels...she needs nothing but support and understanding...most importantly never ask her why she stays, never make her feel judged or she will shut you out.....abusive situations are very her open up, tell her about this site..there are some wonderful domestic violence groups in here
