WOuld you still get benefits if fired ??

I know that if you get laid off you can get benefits still for amount of time but what if you get fired ?

  • i dont think so, but you can pay out the wazoo for COBRA insurance.

  • You get nothing your fired. Why would they pay for anything. You might be able to get unemployment but if it is for theft or gross misconduct forget about it. Make sure to not get fired and do a good job you won't have to worry about it.

  • No. For instance, at my company if you get laid off because of industry conditions you get a severence package. If you get fired you get a hop in the ass and shown the door. No company will fire you and then offer you any sort of benefits. The benes terminate the day you're out of there.

  • cobra applies to everybody. it is just the continuation of the insurance that you are already on. But you pay 100% and the company pays nothing. COBRA even applies to your just graduated from college dependant who hasn't got new coverage yet. but you pay 100%. Costs the company nothing.
