  • Ya know...when they sell their HUGE energy consuming homes, their FLEETS of GAS GUSSLING cars and tour buses and stop flying private planes. I will start paying attention to their fervor on climate change. Until they can live what they are telling ME to live I Call BS on ALL their happy @sses. AND they can afford to pledge all that crap. Me in MIDDLE America. The backbone of the dang country, is squeezed dry. And finally...YOU PEOPLE ARE ACTORS...many of whom didn't or barely finished HS....Why the heck should we listen to you and who told you your political views were more important than mine?

  • Well, except for the moment when one guy says he pledges to serve Barack Obama, and the chorus at the end where it shows a multiplicity of the celebrities saying that phrase again, the rest of the lengthy public service announcement is all about innocuous stuff like turning off your lights, buying a hybrid car, volunteering in charity organizations ... even somehow "ending slavery of 1 million people in the next five years" (no specifics)

I LIKED the moment when one man said he pledged to call himself an American, and not an African-American ... that was cool. We do need to push back at the media and politicians who constantly manipulate citizens into divisions against each other in order to get them to feel threatened.

This positive ad certainly does take a creepy, Big Brother turn at the end when it funnels our feeling of agreement with these goals into "We pledge to serve the President" and Obama's portrait gets huge.
