How contagious are the shingles if my children have been vaccinated from chicken pox?

We will be visiting some friends out of town and one of the adults has the shingles. I'm worried.

  • Just as contagious as if they were to be around another kid with Chicken Pox. They have protection, but it's not a guarantee they won't catch it.

Personally, I wouldn't be around that adult, nor anyone who has had close contact with them in the past two weeks...vaccine or no vaccine.
