Wetting through diapers

My 20 mo. old son wets through his diapers at night. Sometimes he wakes up to be changed and sometimes not but he will have a huge wet spot first. What can I do to help with this? He insists on drinking lots of water before bed and again when he gets changed at night. Not sure if this is normal.

  • You may have to cut down on his water intake at bedtime. Just be sure he gets enough throughout the day. It may piss him off for a while, but he'll get the hang of it.

I also agree, if you aren't already using huggies, try them out. We used those on our son since birth, and I've never had a problem with them leaking.

  • Um, cut out the liquids 1 hr before are the mom, enforce the rule. also what Zachsmom says about upping 1 size but I always used Parents Choice diapers without problems.

  • My LO was wetting through hers at night. I actually bought plastic/vinyl pants and used those at night over the diaper so I didn't have to change sizes. They worked well until I ran out of the cheap diapers that someone bought for us (4 mos worth) and we went back to pampers. I work so well. I wish you luck.
