Is my daughter trying to self wean herself? (she'll be one sept 26th)

For the last 3 days she doesn't seem that interesting in nursing. Shes nursing about 4 times a day. and a month ago she nursed 7 times a day. Should i start introducing her to whole milk? This happen to anyone else?

  • She doesn't need cow milk (she is not a baby cow). Now is a great time to introduce a sippy cup with water.

  • This is normal for the agew. Could mean weaning, could mean the rest of the world is too interesting. Mine did this and then went back to nursing frequently...weaned at 26 months.

At the end of the month you can offer whole milk. It needn't be all one or the other.

  • They often go on nursing strikes or just plain cut back when they are around 12 months. There is nothing wrong with it and if your doctor is okay with it then you can try to introduce milk, but you do not need to at all.
