  • As a child, I remember my 4th Grade Sunday School Teacher showing me her Bible and I was shocked to see that it was old and in poor condition. Then she asked why we thought that was so and afterwards explained to us that it should be the most worn book in the house. It is meant to be read, and read and read.

  • I have one that's about 60 years old and one that's about 20 years old. Oh, and one that's about 12 years old. The oldest one was my granny's when she was younger. The other ones were gifts. Mostly they just sit on the shelf but I keep them around for reference alongside my other books about world religions.

  • The oldest Bibles I have was printed in the 40's and belonged to my great-grandmother.

My husband's oldest Bible was printed about 1950, we think, and belonged to his great-grandmother as well.

I'd love to get a hold of a really old copy, though.

    =)

  • My others are relatively new - between 2 and 5 years old, I think (all my older copies (like 10 years old) are still at my mother's house)
