  • I don't know, but it's a great thing to see.

On Wednesday night, MoveOn.org staged a series of vigils for health care across the country. I covered one here in the Inland Empire. MoveOn of course supports the Obama package. There was also a group of opponents protesting

SOME of the people at the protest engaged in shouting matches right off the bat. I recorded a very LOUD argument between one protestor who lost her cool and cussed out some of the MoveOn people. BUT...there were also a few people who engaged in actual conversation, and I recorded some of that as well. I also asked the event organizer whether the VOLUME of the discussion is taking away from the actual content...she felt that was the case and is trying to organize a more formal gathering where both sides can air their opinions WITHOUT the shouting.

What I'm trying to say is if you are shouting, you cannot hear the Other. So how about a little less shouting?

  • They have reduced to biting them that shut that one guy up. Seems there are crazies on both sides if we could quiet them down maybe a real conversation could happen.

  • a really good way to calm all of the "non-reformers" (not sure who they are, since we all agree we need to reform the health care system, just not leaving the government in charge of making life and death decisions), would be to just take care of the 47 million people currently without health care, by:

    a. deporting the 20 million illegal aliens clogging up our emergency rooms
    b. enrolling all eligible or qualifying people to medicare/medicaid/schip and related existing government sponsored health care plans
    c. subsidizing (100% if need be) the 10 million people who truly cannot obtain health insurance for whatever reason....which, i am confident will not cost 3 trillion dollars!

why must we destroy an entire system for the sake of 0.33% of the population of the usa? why not just fix the problem and slash the budget as needed? oh, riiiight.....because then the government wouldn't be in control!!!! got it!!!!
