Anyone else's school NOT giving into Obama, and playing his "speech"? Our's isn't! YAY!!!!!!!!!

I have a newfound respect for the Superintendent and school board, for listening to us parents, and not giving into the pressure to let him "pep talk" our kids! I can now send my son to school on Tuesday. They can if they want, watch a replay, but that's it! Gotta love Texas schools!

  • Wow, that sucks. It's always sad when a minority of whiny parents ruins things for everyone else.

  • This is from our schools website
The President of the United States will address school children at 9 a.m. Tuesday. The message will not be shown live because our bandwidth will not guarantee a quality feed to all of our classrooms. Our technology allows us to record the message and make it available to staff and students for viewing at a later time. It is our understanding that the message will center on the importance of education and setting high goals. Our teachers will not be presenting this information in a political manner. We respect parents' preference to have their children opt out of the viewing.

  • Some components of the lesson plan have caused objections. Therefore, the lesson plans will not be used in the classroom
