Long toenails-is it mostly African American women that do this??

Why do mostly African American women grow out their toenails way long? Isn't that uncomfortable in shoes? I've seen so many with long painted toenails and it grosses me out everytime. But why do they do it?

  • It is mostly black women that grow their nails to gross lengths. I've only known a couple of white girls that did that (one used to glue her fingernails back on if they broke) but I see it all the time with black women. I don't know how anyone can do that. I let mine grow out a bit in summer, just long enough so I can get a pedicure but they still whine about how short my nails are. I can't wear shoes when I do that though, I need to keep all my toenails less than 1cm long and my pinky nails barely visible if I want to be comfortable.

  • Wow!! You 'women' are really insensitive! You only see black women do this because you only pay attention to black women because you don't want to put down your own race and find something wrong w/ them! What about how white women say "omg , like like like" in every sentence?
