If you support Obama's student address on Tuesday....

For those who support Obama speaking to school students and bypassing parents' involvement to watch this address together where it can be discussed on the spot, what would you say to making it mandatory for teen mothers and those collecting welfare, WIC, and other government handouts to watch Obama's address, and perhaps use the opportunity to better their lives--you know, address those who need to get the message, instead of sending a "blanket" message to all--when most children have parents who are involved and children who are already motivated to succeed in life?

Obama could then conduct a series of such addresses to this population, since they are being paid to do nothing other than produce more government dependents. Maybe that would be a more effective and efficient utilization of the country's resources?

What do you think?

  • sorry op - you just swatted a hornet's nest. these "moms" just won't get it. good idea and nice try.

compassion is helping through giving ideas and bettering people emotionally and mentally, which translates to physically, picking them up when they are down...not handing them a check.

Maybe Obama will apologize for putting all these kids in debt when they are older...that's why they need to work so hard and be successful! lol.

  • That is the silliest comparison i have ever seen. The children are OUR future. Why would he need to address grown ass people on how to live their lives? That's stupid. I'm sorry i just don't get your reasoning.

  • Sure, let him do both. I doubt you could get the illiterate teen moms who dropped out to have their babies to do any homework on it, though.

Here's an idea, if Obama reaches some of the school kids now, maybe they won't end up teen parents living off society. Or drop outs with low paying jobs who then live off society.
