my 4 1/2 month old can sit up unassisted but still can't roll over??

is this normal or is he just different haha

  • It looks like he's almost there!
    Usually, babies roll over around... 3-4, maybe 5 months, and sit up unassisted about 6 months, so he's going backwards! :D
    Babies all do things at different rates - but it seems he's pretty on target to me. :]

  • give him more tummy time my nurse said its good to try to give them tummy time every time u change their diaper i know thats not possible but as soon as i kept trying every chance i got he rolled over at 3 months he cant sit unassited yet but he rolls across the room fast lol dont worry as ong as he does it by 6 onths u shouldbe fine talk to ur pediatricion just to make sure tho

  • My son was very similar...he could sit up well before he could roll over. I think he was being stubborn b/c he didnt like to be on his back. When he finaly decided to do it, he did it well and soon he become semi-mobile!

  • Some babies do not like either their tummy or their back. My son cannot stand his tummy because of his reflux and it has dampered his rolling skills. Do not worry too much if he can still sit up by himself.
