Ummmm why?

Why is oral sex a sin if it is done in a married opposite sex relationship?

  • I have heard people say that oral sex is wrong "because homosexuals use it as a way to pleasure each other." Well, I'm sure they also hold hands, kiss and cuddle up for movies but I don't see any of those things being banned or labeled as "sin" because of it lol.

Anyone can define for themselves what "pure" in Hebrews 13 means. The verse specifically mentions sexual immorality and adultery. I Thessalonians 4 defines sexual immorality. The NIV footnotes for verse 4:4 demonstrates that the passage specifically refers to a man not being able to control himself, venturing outside of his marriage. Wesley's Notes & Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary agree. I define the purity of the marriage bed as being a spiritual purity. Sex is not just for reproduction; it is designed for pleasure as well. Husband and wife and designed to please each other, IMHO, not mutually exclusive to intercourse.

  • Forget sin, why the heck is it still illegal in some states?

Answer by Anonymous at 12:34 AM on Sep. 5, 2009

  • It's homosexual sex.

Answer by Anonymous at 12:51 AM on Sep. 5, 2009

  • Because it is considered sodomy.
Sodomy is legally defined as homosexual behavior in most cases, but in some states its meaning extends to include anything seen as "deviate sexual conduct" and hence unnatural. In states like Kansas, Missouri and Indiana, oral sex is classified as sodomy.

In Georgia the act between two people, even if married, could result in no less than a year and no more than 20 years imprisonment.

California is liberated. Things like cohabitation, anal sex, S & M, oral sex (heterosexual or otherwise) are not illegal. As long as it is between two consenting adults. The only limit to sexual practices in this state is that sex in any shape or form must take place between two adults, and only two.

  • Even though the laws are there, they don't actually enforce them.

  • There was a case featured in the November 1996 issue of "Marie Claire" involving an Atlanta wife who tried to have her soon-to-be ex-husband charged with rape. She had persuaded her then hubby to tie her up and later used the bondage as a means of proving that the sex had not been consensual. Her sister came forward and informed the court of the plot against the man, but there was another twist in the story.

Although the man was acquitted on the rape charge, the man was sentenced to five years in jail for having performed oral sex on the woman. He had admitted to that during the course of the case and so he was charged and sentenced under Georgia law.

  • some people say its cannibolism(spelling)they say the bible says something about not eating flesh of your flesh or something like that but Its not really eating so I think its just an excuse, I dont know. I love oral sex so if its a sin "Im sorry God!"

Answer by Anonymous at 12:58 AM on Sep. 5, 2009

  • wow...i had no idea it was illegal in some states. i might have to start using that as an excuse (j/k!)

oral sex is only a sin if you think its a sin. im pretty sure the Bible doesn't go into details about oral sex. now there are certain denominations that have their own rules about sexual things, so you may have to check w/ your church.

and i think its sad that its considered homosexual. how is it homosexual sex unless homosexuals are engaged in it? having/giving oral sex doesn't make/mean youre gay. i dont care what oral sex is considered under the law, but you are not homosexual for having/giving oral sex.

  • This is from a religious website:

Is Oral Sex A Sin - What Does the Bible Say?
Couples often ask, "Is oral sex a sin?" The best place to look for answers is in the Bible. Hebrews 13:4 says, "Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral."
When answering the question "Is oral sex a sin," it is important to remember that God created sex to be a beautiful expression of love for married couples. When the husband or the wife does not feel that sex is a "beautiful expression of love," then changes need to be made in that couple's sex life. Evidently, the actions are not mutually beneficial to each person. Nothing in the Bible says that oral sex is a sin, however it may not be appropriate for every couple.
