I've never had an abnormal pap. But I still worry maybe something is being missed. Do I have to request different tests to find HPV or other markers for cervical cancer or other things? Or will they see it as abnormal then do the extra testing?

  • It depends on your doctor. I have had 2 abnormal paps. It is normal to have an abnormal one every now and again. My doctor just retests you in 6 months because it is usually something stupid and resolves itself. However, some doctors go ahead and do biopsies.
