  • i was told by my dietician (i am diabetic) the best breakfast is old fasioned oatmeal...not the instance or packets. but homemade oatmeal...also good is any type of fruit...if you are going to have anything thats sugar, the natural sugar is the best! also try a whole grain english muffin, with peanut butter on it, and slices of apples....VERY good!

  • Oatmeal with cinnamon (cinnamon natural lowers your blood sugar) and whole grains to start with. Buttered toast is fine, just make sure it is whole grain toast. You can even find sugar free preserves. I bought mine from a farmers market. The guy's wife is diabetic, so she makes it for those who can't have sugar. But you can find sugar free in the grocery store easily. You can have a fruit salad with walnuts, which would be healthy. And while you don't eat eggs, diabetics (GD or regular) do need a good amount of protein, which they can provide. Your other options would be fish, or lean fowl meat. You can find turkey sausage and turkey bacon at any store (its actually really good!)

  • Oh and to add, for the fruit salad, you should use splenda if you wish to sweeten it. Splenda is approved by the American diabetes association!
