when do babies learn how to crawl?

my 5 moth old is scooting backwasrd and not forward is this normal?

  • Both of my kids started crawling around at about 9 months. And yes mine both went backwards before going forward.

  • most babies will scoot backwards and then they crawl a few weeks or days soon after that.

  • My babies starting crawling at different ages. My first was about 5mo. when he started, my second was around 8months and my 3rd around 6mo. Every child developes at their own pace. My niece never crawled she just went right to walking.

  • my son is Army crawling and my daughter is just trying to really crawl. They are 8 months. He's been doing it for about a month and she's stil in the going backwards stage.

  • my daughter will be 4 months on the 16th and she is already gettin the start of crawling, she has everything down, but she cant lift her lil tummy, shes only 13 lbs, but she cant sit up by her self, so im assuming thats y.
