VBAC question

I got pregnant five months after having a c-section. Anone able to have vaginal birth that soon? Some midwives say yes and docs say no. Anyone have experience? (they say the chance of having a uterine rupture is very rare now because of the way the incision is closed now)

  • You can ask the VBAC moms for more experience, too.

  • Different care providers are likely to have varying responses due to their perspective, training, and experience. Doctors are doing fewer VBACs and midwives have more confidence & experience.
If you want a more normal-natural birth a midwife is your go-to gal. If you want surgery then the surgeon is your man.

  • Yes you can. Don't let a dr talk you into having a repeat c-section if you do not want it. If your dr does not support you trying a VBAC get a new dr. It is about what you want, not what they want to do. As long as there are not other issues with your pregnancy it is completely safe to have a VBAC.

  • As you know it's not good for you to have gotten pregnant so soon. The World Health Organization recommends waiting over 3 years to try to get pregnant even after a vaginal birth for the mother's and baby's health. It is also easier to care for the child you already have. It's too late now but now you know for next time.
