This question is not meant to offend anyone I just need honest opinions

Hubby & I are expecting #3 12/24. It's our first girl so the name has to be PERFECT! Anyway, I fell in love with Sophia Elizabeth [middle name after mine & I just think Sophia is beautiful]. Hubby is 1/2 filipino & often called a "mexican" which he doesn't like. I'm truly not trying to offend anyone. But he's worried the name sounds too hispanic. What do you ladies think?

  • Who really cares what other people think? If you both like the name.. then go for it. They can still confuse her AND him for anything without even knowing her name. As long as SHE knows what she is... that's all that matters.

  • Again. I truly don't want to hurt anyone. Neither hubby or I are racist. He just gets hurt being mistaken all the time. I hope you ladies understand my point.

  • When I hear Sophia, I think Sophia Lauren who is Italian, so I think Italy when I hear Sophia, but depending on your last name, it could be somewhat hispanic sounding. I do love that name though, it's very pretty and feminine. What about Sophie? It's still close and doesn't strike me as hispanic at all.

  • Sounds fine by me. I let my husband pick out names when I was preggo with our son and he wanted our son named after him which was fine by me. If we were to have a girl back then, he had chosen Rose Marie. Marie being my middle name. My husband is hispanic and our son half hispanic (I'm white).

  • He loves the name but this fear is stopping him from agreeing on the name.

I believe it is greek.. If I remember correctly.
