What is a good age to start teaching your toddler to use the potty? Also what will be a good start to the new system?

My son is 21 months. He is a well adjusted preemie who was born at 26 1/2 weeks.

  • I heard that it's around 18 months but it could be later since he was a preemie.

  • Hard to say, we waited till our daughter was about 2 and she was trained in about 3wks. As far as a method we just took her to the store and let her pick out her own Tinkerbell undies and explained that there would be no more diapers and she adjusted on her own.

  • For my son we could not get him to understand not to pee in his underwear so we let him run around naked for a little while till he got used to using the potty. Then we let him pick out some underwear and made sure he used the bathroom evry half hour to hour till he got used to pottyin with clothes on.
