So, what happens after an hour after formula sits out?

  • throw it out. If the baby's mouth came in contact with it, there has been a transfer of bacteria to the formula. Bacteria grows very rapidly (doubles every 20mins or so). The sugar in the formula is a haven for bacteria growth.

  • look at it this way...do you want to drink milk that has been left out for an hour?
    the milk begins to spoil as well as bacteria growth from the saliva/

  • Even in water bacteria grows. Even water that has sat out for an hour is more filled with bacteria then it was the hour previous.
