  • Our son had one and it helped him walk but he got the most joy out of trying to follow his dad everywhere, lol. Crawling just wasn't fast enough. After he took his first step trying to follow his dad, it was ON, lol.

  • Walkers don't help a baby learn to walk, It may even hold them back because they use different muscles. Pediatricians do not reccomend them.FWIW, I never had a walker and was walking when I was 9 months, much to my mother's dismay. ;)

  • Saying that all Dr.s don't recommend them is bs. My sons Dr. said it was fine and they don't use "diffrent" muscles to walk with a walker or by themselves. To say that a walker doesn't help is ignorant. Just because YOUR situation was diffrent doesn't make everyone else wrong. To the person who wrote this question, if you want to use a walker then do, if not, then don't. Your baby will walk when she or he wants to anyways, regardless of what you do.

  • No. Both of my kids were walking before 8 months and neither had a walker

  • Yes he did. I had him in one at 2 months old he loved to sit up and move his legs around. We had a very nice one that we could adjust as he grew. I was also so big it would not fit through the doors in the house at all. We didn't have stairs so that was not an issue. He could sit up on his own at 2 1/2 months by 3 months could get himself to a seated position crawled at 4 months cruised furniture by 6 months and walked right at 8 months. He only used the walker from 2-6 month.

  • No, but babywearing might have been encouraging.
Babies who are worn are more likely to walk sooner, encouraging motor skills/balance, says science...
