  • shut up? that wasn't very respectful.

to answer your question, being true to myself is being true to who God made me. when I am sinning or going against God I am not being the person who God made me to be, I'm am acting in my sinful nature. When I became a Christain I died to my sin, which I was living before. to live in Christ is to die to yourself.

  • I think it can be vary hard, we just often don't recognize the effect of secular society on our lives. Jesus calls us to selflessness, yet American culture is predominently self serving or self oriented. Jesus calls us to depend on God, yet in our culture self reliance is the way to go. Jesus calls us to trust Him even when it doesn't make sense, secular culture says show me the proof. This doesn't even include the commercialism, consumerism, etc. So yes it can be a challenge to live a life that is set apart for God.

Yeah...I'd like more on how that works, too. Because it defies logic.

  • I'm just curious...why do some seem to use the word secular like it's evil? This country was supposed to be a place where we CAN be true to ourselves no matter what we believe. What's the problem with that?
