How much?

So I have seen a lot about illegal immigration recently, and it got me thinking... We complain a lot about them, but without them, who would do the manual labor? We refuse to work for the pennies these people do so there would be a huge increase in the cost of a lot of things like produce. So how much would you be willing to pay for say, Apples? $5 a lb? $8 a lb?

  • Supply and cost issues would arise.

Fewer would be able to afford the goods and services available.
Over time, less goods and services would be available.
More small businesses would go under.
More imported items would be needed, unless ppl decided to do/go without-big change for the American mentality.
Americans have become addicted to the plentiful, cheap labor and the services/goods provided.

  • We do not use illegals on our farm. We pay a living wage to legal citizens. We make a little less but we have solid workers who are loyal. Many farms would be just fine with non illegal workers. In our area I don't know of one farmer that uses illegals. There are not many Mexicans in our area the few were born here and are legal and contribute to society like anyone else. They should go home and try to come here legally.

  • I cannot begin to tell you how much this question irks my (white American Citizen) mother, since she did go into the fields to pick fruit to put food on the table for our family.

  • Hate to tell you this, but not all migrant farm workers are illegal aliens. We hired a group of Navajos to bring in our hay this year. Definitely American citizens, and willing to work doing manual labor.
