  • Extended Rear Facing- keeping a child in a rear facing child seat until the child has reached the weight limits of the seat. They aren't always kept rear facing until the weight limits though, its just the idea of keeping them rear facing as long as possible. Usually kids who are ERF have convertible carseats at least from the age of 1 because they are able to be used with kids who are over 20lbs.
