changing the name of a three year old?

i know its not my place, but a friend of mine just got divorced and is going to change the name of her daughter because it was her former husbands mothers name...what do you think of this? i am just worried her daughter will have an identity crisis or something! and its not a simple change her name is sara and she is changing it to rehienin (sp?) legally.

  • That is just nuts, and it will confuse the child. She is old enough now where it can and will affect her. You can voice your opinion to the mother, but that's about all you can legally do.
